Road closures in Medina County U.S. 224, at its intersection with Lake Road, will have daily lane closures for striping and installation of reflective pavement markings. State Route 162 at the railroad tracks just east of Liberty Street, in the village of Spencer, will close Tuesday for railroad crossing repairs by Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway. State Route 301 between Williams Road and Crawford Road will close Sept. 14 for a second culvert replacement in this area. Jordan Dye of Brunswick Participates in University of Alabama's Cooperative Education ProgramUniversity of Alabama student Jordan Dye of Brunswick participated in UA's Cooperative Education Program during the summer 2026 semester. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. While participating in the co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation. Medina County Historical Society open house Sept. 13 The Medina County Historical Society will host an open house from 1–4 p.m. on Sept. 13 at both museums in Medina. The John Smart House Museum, 206 N. Elmwood Avenue, will feature the "History of Medicine in Medina County" exhibit, along with an apple-themed activity for families in celebration of Grandparents Day. The McDowell-Phillips House Museum, 205 S. Prospect Street will offer tours every 20 minutes beginning at 1 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $7 for youth and free for children under 7.
