4-H outstanding seniors recognized at Medina County Fair

MEDINA — Public officials from the local and state level recognized this year's group of 4-H "outstanding seniors" for their dedication to the organization during a breakfast at the pavilion at the Medina County Fair on Tuesday. Brittney Robinson, 4-H program assistant, said the group of high school seniors have been active for at least five years in the 4-H program and are taking on a 4-H project. "Nominees submitted an application and an essay," she said. "The 4-H Advisory Committee selected the outstanding seniors based on participation, dedication and service to 4-H at the local, county and state levels. These are the best and brightest that Medina County has to offer." The following seniors were recognized during Tuesday's breakfast: Brynn Campbell Isabelle Honigman Domonique Levandoski Dixie Potter Jayna Wise Campbell has been involved in 4-H for eight years and has raised and exhibited a variety of animals during that time. She is pursuing a degree as a veterinary technician, which she says was heavily influenced by her experience in 4-H. Honigman said being an active 4-H member led her to her future career choice. At the University of Findlay, she will be in the pre-veterinary program while minoring in beef production. Her goal is to be a livestock veterinarian and own her own beef breeding business. Levandoski echoed that 4-H had a large impact on her life by developing her passion for animal health. She plans to become a large/farm animal veterinarian and credits 4-H for being the person she is today. Potter said 4-H gave her leadership and volunteer opportunities. Through the experience, she learned responsibility, decision making skills and the value of hard work. Wise was also impacted by 4-H when it comes to her career goals and personal growth. She is pursuing an education in biochemistry with the goal of becoming an equine surgeon. "4-H is a great opportunity for kids," Robinson said. "4-H is a great program overall, and the outstanding senior breakfast is just to show the best of the best that we have in Medina County." Isabella Beamer and Levandoski were also announced as the recipients of the Stephen F. Joseph Memorial scholarship during Tuesday's breakfast.
