Hinckley woman pleads not guilty to 14 felony charges for child exploitation

MEDINA — A Hinckley woman pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges related to child exploitation at her arraignment at the Medina County Common Pleas Court on Monday. Faith Morris, 19, of Hinckley, had her first arraignment on May 26 in Judge Bill Hutson's courtroom, in which she pleaded not guilty to four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or an impaired person, which is a felony. A supplemental arraignment was held in front of Magistrate Matt Razavi on Monday for additional felony charges: One count of sexual battery. Eight counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance. One count of gross sexual imposition. Morris' bond was set at $100,000 during her initial arraignment and was increased on Monday. "Notably, there's two sex offenses with many victims here," Razavi said. "We want to set a bond that protects the public, and specifically here in this case we have minors who are the most vulnerable members of the public, so I think it's appropriate to set the bond in this case at $200,000." On Oct. 29, Hinckley police received a case referral from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. It was later determined that the suspect was Morris. Other sources have reported that Morris worked at a daycare. "Judge (Bill) Hutson previously (issued) no contact with anyone under the age of 18, no contact with the victims or their family members and if the defendant is to make bond and be released, there will be no internet from any device," Razavi said. "Also, if she's able to make bond, there will be home arrest with no movements permitted." A pretrial is set for July 23 and a jury trial is scheduled for July 27 for Morris in the Medina County Common Pleas Court. "The individuals' parents are all here today, and we'll say that for the record," Assistant Prosecutor Scott Salisbury said. "They do not wish to address the court."
