Medina High School orchestra presents annual 'Strings in the Park' The Medina High School orchestra will present its annual "Strings in the Park" concert from noon to 1 p.m. today at Uptown Park in Medina Square. The free, family-friendly event invites community members to listen to music from Medina students and alumni. Attendees are encouraged to bring lunch and a chair. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be moved indoors to the Medina Performing Arts Center at 851 Weymouth Road. Brunswick High School alumnus wins award Brunswick High School graduate Meghan Kellem was recognized at the Edward K. Aldag Jr. Student Business Plan Competition held at the University of Alabama. She received the Social Entrepreneur Award for her venture "Refraction" during the competition. The annual competition was held in April and attracted 96 student-led business teams who competed for awards ranging from $500 to the $50,000 grand prize. Kellem earned $500 with her award. "We are incredibly proud of Meghan and her achievement," Superintendent Jason Niedermeyer said. "She represents the best of Brunswick — someone who not only pursues her own goals but also works to make a positive difference in the world around her. Meghan is a shining example of the thoughtful, innovative graduates we see leaving our schools each year, ready to tackle real challenges in their communities." Road closure Columbia Road in York Township will be closed from the intersection of Stone Road continuing south to just north of address 4546 Columbia Road on Thursday and Friday. School buses and emergency vehicles are permitted, but delays are possible.
