Medina County Federal Credit Union awards two scholarships Medina County Federal Credit Union announced two winners in its 2026 scholarship program. Nathan Bogucki, of Medina, and Ella Gillin, of Wadsworth, will each receive $2,000 to help them continue their education. Bogucki, a senior at Medina High School, was selected as the recipient of the 2026 Bernard R. Spechalske scholarship. The annual scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and a strong commitment to serving their community. Gillin, a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was named the recipient of the 2026 memorial scholarship. The award recognizes students who exemplify academic achievement, leadership and a commitment to serving others. Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities seeks nominations for 2026 Stand Out Champion Awards The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities is accepting nominations for the 2026 Stand Out Champion Awards. It recognizes individuals, businesses and community leaders who go above and beyond to support people with developmental differences in Medina County. Community members are encouraged to nominate people in a variety of areas such as: People with developmental differences who demonstrate outstanding advocacy in the community. Businesses that positively affect the lives of people with developmental differences. People, groups or public figures who make a significant difference through programs, initiatives or advocacy efforts. Nominations are accepted year-round, but to be considered for 2026, submissions must be received by Thursday. Award recipients will be announced and recognized in August.
