Buckeye to have new curriculum director before 2026-27 school year

YORK TWP. — Rob Winton will start serving as Buckeye's new curriculum director ahead of the 2026-27 school year. According to a news release from Buckeye Schools, Winton's career in education has lasted more than 20 years, and he has served leadership roles at the middle school and high school level. "(Rob) Winton brings a strong background in instructional leadership and a clear commitment to student success," Superintendent Jeff Stanton stated. "His work supporting teachers, strengthening curriculum and leading high-performing schools makes him an excellent fit for Buckeye. We are excited to welcome him to our team." He is an assistant principal at North Ridgeville High School and has also served as the Rocky River High School principal and Chagrin Falls High School associate principal. He began his teaching career at Kenston Middle School and High School. "Throughout his career, he has prioritized student achievement, thoughtful curriculum design and safe, supportive learning environments," the district stated. Winton received his Ph.D in education from the University of Findlay in 2023. He also has a master's degree in educational administration, a bachelor's degree from Cleveland State University and superintendent licensure. "An active leader in the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators, he has served as both president and past president, and he frequently presents on school leadership, policy and emerging education topics," the district stated. Winton's appointment as curriculum director was approved during the Buckeye Board of Education meeting on April 14. Current Buckeye Curriculum Director Bridget Elias will soon retire. "We are deeply grateful to Bridget Elias for her years of dedicated service and the lasting impact she has made on our students, staff and programs," Stanton said. "We are excited to welcome (Rob) Winton and look forward to the leadership and perspective he will bring as we continue to build on that strong foundation."
