Dorothy E. 'Dottie' Wilson

Dorothy E. 'Dottie' Wilson, 83, unexpectedly passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026. She was born November 13, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late George and Stella (nee Stavash) Sobczyk, Sr. A 1960 graduate of Highland High School, Dottie was retired from LTV Steel but continued working as a Home Health Aid for Visiting Angels, often saying she 'took care of the elderly.' Dottie was active in the ladies' softball league in Hinckley for many years. She continued to enjoy being active in her ladies' bowling and golf leagues each year and spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hinckley. Left to remember Dottie's life is her loving son, Rick (Kerry) Sheneman; her cherished grandchildren, Brent Gist, Shanell Gist, Matthew (Angelique) Sheneman, Michael Sheneman (Christa Argirakis), and Meghan (Jonah) Mariscal; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Walter Sobczyk and Barbara Hale; and many extended family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Dottie is preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie; her siblings, Mary Ann Sobczyk, Jeanette Boggs and George Sobczyk, Jr. Family will welcome friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 in Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick. A Celebration of Dottie's Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026 in the funeral home. Private inurnment to follow in Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinckley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Dottie's honor to Lifebanc or Our Savior Lutheran Church.
