Main Street Wadsworth announces unveiling of the last installment of the wing mural series Main Street Wadsworth announced that the last installment of the Wing Mural Series, No. 18, titled "Sparking Change," will be installed soon. The matchstick-inspired wing mural created by Mac and Allyse Love of Art x Love will be unveiled at 11 a.m. Friday in the downtown Wadsworth pocket park. Main Street Wadsworth issued a call to artists. The volunteer design committee selected Akron-based muralists Mac and Allyse Love, who work under the alias Art x Love, to paint the wings, which represent Wadsworth's history and connection to the Ohio Match Co. and the blue tip match. The following are best practices for disposing batteries: Put old batteries in plastic bags or cover the ends of battery terminals with clear packing tape to prevent lingering charges from being released. Locate the nearest disposal site, participating retailer or battery drop-off events. If the battery cannot be removed from an old device, bring the entire device to a facility recommended by the local solid waste management district for it to be properly disassembled. Check for battery returns. Some battery manufacturers accept returns via mail, but it is important to follow postal shipping guidelines before putting old batteries in the mail. Medina County Park District hike The Medina County Park District will continue its "Healthy Dose of Nature" hiking series from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday in Bluebell Valley. The hiking series allows participants to join a naturalist and volunteers for a 3- to 5-mile vigorous hike along a different trail each month. It is a continuous hike. Hikers are asked to dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear and bring along a bottle of water. The hike is for ages 10 and older. No registration is required for the free event.
