State Highway Patrol Medina Post investigating fatal crash in Hinckley

HINCKLEY TWP. — A fatal crash is under investigation by the State Highway Patrol's Medina Post. The two-vehicle crash occurred about 9:46 a.m. Saturday at State Road and state Route 303. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2018 Ford Fusion was traveling north on State Road while a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling east on state Route 303. Troopers said the Ford did not yield at a stop sign when turning west onto state Route 303, and the vehicle was struck by the Chevrolet. The Ford Fusion was operated by Halley Woodward, 40, South Euclid. She was transported from the scene by EMS and pronounced deceased at Brunswick Medical Center. The preliminary investigation indicated she was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash. The operator of the Chevrolet Colorado was identified as 41-year-old Mathew Bigadza. He sustained minor injuries from the crash and was not transported for treatment. According to the preliminary investigation, he was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.
