Medina County District Library offers tax help The Medina County District Library has current copies of select Internal Revenue Service and state of Ohio tax forms for distribution or copying. City tax forms vary by location. Patrons can use the library's public computers, Wi-Fi and printers to access tax forms and publications online. The following AARP tax preparation workshops are planned: Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Feb. 2 to April 8 at the Medina library. Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 5 to April 9 at the Brunswick library. It is free personal income tax assistance and form preparation to taxpayers in Medina County and surrounding areas. Vietnam Veterans Memorial scholarship The Medina County Vietnam Veterans of America is now accepting requests for applications for the 2026 annual Vietnam Veterans Memorial scholarship. Qualifying individuals include Vietnam-era veterans or the spouse, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of a Vietnam veteran who are enrolled at or applying to an accredited college, university or vocational school. Spring Grove Cemetery renews arboretum level II accreditation from ArbNet arboretum accreditation program Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina has renewed its level II accreditation by the ArbNet arboretum accreditation program and the Morton Arboretum. The ArbNet arboretum accreditation program is the only global initiative to officially recognize arboreta at various levels of development, capacity and professionalism. Spring Grove Cemetery is also recognized as an accredited arboretum in the Morton Register of Arboreta, a database of the world's arboreta and gardens dedicated to woody plants. "As the only arboretum in Medina County, our community benefits significantly from the renewed level II ArbNet accreditation of Spring Grove," President of Friends of the Cemetery Teresa Merkle said. "For over two decades, the Friends of the Cemetery and the city of Medina have worked together to maintain, preserve and plant trees at Spring Grove. This accreditation renewal further strengthens our partnership as we advance the care and development of the arboretum at Spring Grove." Local students graduate from Ohio Dominican University The following Medina County students earned their degrees at the end of the fall 2025 semester: Jeannie Davis, of Medina, graduated from Northern Illinois University.
