State Rep. Melanie Miller to run for third term for Ohio's 67th House District

State Rep. Melanie Miller, R-Ashland, announced that she recently filed a petition to seek a third term in the Ohio House of Representatives to continue representing the 67th House District. The 67th House District includes portions of Medina County like Brunswick along with the entirety of Ashland County. Miller was first elected in 2022 and was reelected to a second term in 2024 after running unopposed. She serves as chair of the House Arts, Athletics and Tourism committee, and she is a member of the Health, Children and Human Services committee and the Technology and Innovation committee. Miller also serves as the chair of the Ohio House Pro-Life Caucus. Her other caucus memberships and appointments include the MAHA Caucus and the Rural Hospital Caucus. She is also on the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission as a House member. "I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the families of Ashland and Medina counties, and together we have accomplished much for our communities," Miller stated in a news release. "We've made meaningful progress, and there is still important work ahead to strengthen our communities, lower property taxes, protect life and ensure Ohio remains a great place to live, work and raise a family." Outside of her role in the state legislature, Miller is the executive director of the Ashland Pregnancy Center. She also has experience in communication, digital media and ministry and was Miss Ohio 2006 and Mrs. Ohio America 2011. Her husband, Matt, is the mayor of Ashland. Miller did not respond to a request for comment Thursday. Her campaign announced its intention to continue meeting with voters within the 67th House District in the coming months.
