Wadsworth Republican Sean Hutson announces candidacy for 66th Ohio House District

Republican Sean Hutson announced his plans to run as a candidate for the 66th Ohio House District on Thursday following the announcement that state Rep. Sharon Ray, R-Wadsworth, is not seeking reelection for a fourth and final term in 2026. Ohio House District 66 covers a large part of Medina County including the cities of Medina and Wadsworth. Hutson is a Cloverleaf High School graduate from 2005 who now lives in Wadsworth with his wife, Laura. He is a part-time assistant prosecuting attorney and an attorney with the law firm Harrison and Hutson, where he focuses on real estate, business law and estate planning. "As someone who was raised in Medina County — and who is a proud Wadsworth resident — I know firsthand what issues matter most to the people of the 66th House District," he said. "Medina County has a bright future ahead, and I want to continue that momentum by prioritizing economic growth, promoting streamlined and efficient energy generation, breaking down bureaucratic barriers and supporting family values." Hutson plans to focus his platform on the following: Strengthening the local economy. Preparing a skilled workforce for the future. Ensuring reliable, affordable energy for Medina County families and businesses.
