John Andrew 'Jack' Horstman

John Andrew 'Jack' Horstman, 82, of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Cleveland Clinic in Akron. Born March 15, 1943, at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland, to Fred and Velma (Droll) Horstman. Jack grew up in Parma, Ohio, and spent most of his life in Medina. He began his career with The Toro Company, where he became a successful salesman specializing in lawn equipment and irrigation systems. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit, Jack later owned several nightclubs, including Midnight Jam in Brunswick and Jaxx Nite Club in Medina and Amherst. After his years in the hospitality industry, he brought that same leadership and business acumen into manufacturing. In May of 2000, he co-founded Firstar Precision Corporation, serving as President until his retirement in 2016. A lifelong Northeast Ohio resident, Jack was a passionate Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed bowling and was part of a Medina bowling league for many years. He also took great pride in gardening, lawn care, and making his well-known homemade hot sauces and lobster bisque. Jack was widely known for his warm personality, sense of humor, and ability to connect with anyone he met. He is survived by his children, Cody (Rebecca) Horstman, Kim (Redmond) Burke, Kelly Hausmann, Krissy (Ed) Ramsey; and his grandchildren, Olivia, Noelle, Grace, Bronsyn, Brock, Ava, Jack, Connor, and Brynn. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Tom, Jerry, and Chuck Horstman. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2026, with details to be announced.
