Drew Hall to become next Habitat for Humanity of Medina County executive director

MEDINA — Drew Hall will succeed Tom O'Connell as the next executive director for Habitat for Humanity of Medina County. For the last six years, Hall has served as the vice president and chief development officer for Habitat for Humanity of Summit County. He is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Medina County's Signature program and has lived in Medina County for the past 11 years. "I'm deeply honored to join Habitat for Humanity of Medina County and to build upon the strong foundation under Tom (O'Connell's) leadership," Hall said. "As a Medina County resident, this opportunity is especially meaningful to me." Hall will start the position on Dec. 2, and he will oversee Habitat for Humanity of Medina County's operations such as home construction, resource development, community partnerships, ReStore operations and homeowner services. "Affordable housing is the foundation upon which stability, hope and opportunity are built, and I look forward to working closely with the Habitat board, staff, volunteers and community to expand our impact and help create more affordable housing units for our neighbors in Medina County," he said. Habitat for Humanity of Medina County Board President Jenny Duncan said the organization is excited for Hall to enter the role. "Drew's experience, passion for Habitat's mission and proven leadership make him the right person to guide our affiliate into its next chapter," she said. O'Connell served in the role for the last six years and is leaving to start his new position of executive director of the Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority on Dec. 1. While O'Connell was executive director at Habitat, the organization built and sold 16 homes, began an "Aging in Place" program for Medina County seniors and expanded the ReStore's operations and sales. "Drew (Hall) inherits a great organization that on every level is committed to the mission of providing safe and affordable housing," O'Connell said. "Drew (Hall's) experience, leadership abilities and passion for affordable housing will help continue the great work being done by (Habitat for Humanity of Medina County)."
