Victoria Druley, Aaron Hair, Jeanne Pritchard elected to Medina Board of Education

MEDINA — Victoria Druley, Aaron Hair and incumbent Jeanne Pritchard were elected as Medina Board of Education members on Tuesday, defeating candidate Aidan Haggard. According to the unofficial election results, Druley received 6,173 votes, or 26.51 percent; Hair received 5,880 votes, or 25.25 percent; and Pritchard received 6,804 votes, or 29.22 percent, to Haggard's 4,432 votes, or 19.03 percent. Druley said she felt a huge sense of relief once the results came in on Tuesday night. "Starting back in August, I started dropping literature and knocking on doors and sending mailers," Druley said. "I think just putting the hard work in really paid off in getting my name out there." Druley is a grant writer, as well as a community volunteer and activist. For several years, she has volunteered within and for Medina Schools through Kids First Medina, the Medina Board of Education's facilities committee, PTO, PTO Council and the Partnership Council. Hair is the director of underwriting for Pie Insurance. He also serves as a community member on the Medina Board of Education's finance committee. Pritchard will complete her first term on the Medina Board of Education in December. Previously, she was a teacher and coach at Medina High School for more than 30 years. Looking to the next four years, Pritchard said it's important to improve the district's test scores and to focus on the new strategic plan, which is in the planning phase. Both Pritchard and Druley emphasized the importance of staying within the district's budget and advocating for better school funding at the state level. "I definitely don't want to see Medina City Schools back on the ballot in the next four years," Druley said. "If we can make it through that without talking about levies and maybe getting some of this stuff fixed at the state level, I think that would be the ideal situation." Haggard graduated from Medina High School in 2024 and is a student at Ashland University, studying political science and classical learning. "We fought a good fight. Unfortunately, the organized efforts against our grassroots campaign were successful," Haggard said in a written statement. "I challenge those who won to take up the torch of raising literacy rates, stronger civics and stronger financial responsibility."
