Ron Falconi reelected as Brunswick mayor

BRUNSWICK — Incumbent Ron Falconi was reelected as Brunswick mayor in a race against Christopher Farrenholz on Tuesday as part of the November election. According to unofficial election results, the number of people who voted for Falconi was 2,924 or about 63 percent of the vote. Then, 1,723 people voted for Farrenholz, which was around 37 percent of the vote. Falconi has served as the mayor of Brunswick since 2013. He has also had other roles in the city like Brunswick Councilman-at-Large, and he was on the Brunswick Board of Zoning Appeals. Outside of his work with the city of Brunswick, he has been an attorney at law since 1995. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Ohio, in the Federal District Court of Northern Ohio and in the Federal District Court Western Pennsylvania. "I want to thank my wife, my kids, all the volunteers and my donors, but I especially want to thank the people of Brunswick for giving me the honor of representing them for another four years," Falconi said. "I'm so thrilled and excited for this opportunity that the people gave me yet again." Farrenholz is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who has more than 20 years of experience in military service. During his service, he acted as the mayor of two neighborhoods in Baghdad. In the role, oversaw all city council meetings and was the approving official for civic projects. He was also an information operations officer and logistics officer for units greater than 2,000 soldiers. Currently, he is a supervisory veterans service representative with the Department of Veterans Affairs serving disabled veterans. "I think it was a pretty good showing, considering I started like 30 days ago on a $0 budget," Farrenholz said. "It proves that someone can make a difference even if they just stand up and say, 'Hey, I'm willing to do something.'"
