Jarrett Allen has finger fracture, questionable against Raptors

It's been more than a year since Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen has missed a game. However, it's 50/50 whether he suits up tonight for Cleveland's NBA Cup game against the Toronto Raptors at Rocket Arena. The 6-foot-11, 248-pounder suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left ring finger Monday in a 125-105 loss to the Boston Celtics. After an examination postgame by the Cavs medical team followed by an X-ray administered Thursday at Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine, it was determined that he had a non-displaced fracture of his distal phalanx. Allen, 27, will be listed as questionable tonight. He has played in 96 consecutive games since missing May 15, 2024 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Celtics. The University of Texas product has averaged 14 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting .575 from the field and .800 from the foul line in Cleveland's first five games. Allen had 16 points and six rebounds against Boston. The Cavs (3-2) played the Celtics game without three injured players: point guard Darius Garland (toe), swingman Max Strus (foot) and shooting guard Sam Merrill (hip). All are listed as out against the Raptors. Leading scorer Donovan Mitchell, who is averaging 28 points, is also listed as questionable with left hamstring tightness.
