Buckeye High School September student of the month Julia Andrukat is the September student of the month for Buckeye High School. She is a D.A.R.E. mentor, ASL club member and ASL student aid. She also volunteers with Camp Invention and serves as a special education mentor. Andrukat takes multiple advanced placement and advanced classes. She also supports Live Inspired, volunteers with Shop with a Cop and the Unified Track Meet and works at Crumbl. She does this while pursuing her passions in horseback riding and ASL musical interpretation. Her achievements have earned her a place on the honor roll and membership in both the National Honor Society and the ASL Honor Society. Medina Schools invites community input on new strategic plan Medina Schools is launching the development of a new strategic plan to guide the district over the next three to five years. The plan will help set priorities, align goals and ensure the district continues to meet the needs of students, staff and the community. As part of the process, the district has partnered with the Impact Group, a marketing and communications firm based in Hudson. The district invites parents, guardians and community members to provide their input by completing a confidential online survey. Feedback gathered through the survey will play a role in shaping the future direction of the district. The survey will remain open through Monday. To take part, visit medinabees.org. Medina County Convention and Visitors Bureau recognized The Medina County Convention and Visitors Bureau received recognition for achievement in marketing and advertising at the Ohio Travel Association's RUBY Awards presentation on Oct. 2 in Geneva-on-the-Lake. The Medina County Conventions and Visitors Bureau, in partnership with Castle Noel, received a citation of excellence for the "Spirit of Community" award.
