Brunswick, Brunswick Hills and Hinckley police blotter for Oct. 16

Brunswick police Wednesday, Oct. 8 7:55 p.m. — 3800 Center Road; officers responded to Meijer for a report of theft. Meijer asset protection said the suspect stole sports cards and left the scene. Officers found the vehicle. The man was detained, and stolen merchandise was located in the vehicle. He was placed under arrest, and his wife posted his bond. He was issued a citation for theft into Brunswick Mayor's Court and released. Thursday, Oct. 9 11:42 p.m. — Grafton Road/Hudak Drive; a vehicle was speeding, and a traffic stop was conducted. The operator had two active warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and handed over to Cleveland police. Sunday, Oct. 12 6:27 p.m. — Stanford Drive; police were dispatched at the request of the Lorain County Sheriff's Office to assist in locating a woman. She was found outside her vehicle and was taken into custody without incident. 8:31 p.m. — 3800 block of Center Road; officers were dispatched to Meijer regarding a reported theft. Two women concealed makeup items in their purses and exited the store without payment. They were found to be in possession of the merchandise. They were taken into custody and transported to the Medina County Jail. Monday, Oct. 13 12:58 a.m. — Pearl Road/Grafton Road; police observed a vehicle with expired plates. A traffic stop was conducted, and contact was made with the owner. The odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected, and the owner showed impairment on standardized field sobriety tests. He was arrested and issued citations. Brunswick Hills police Thursday, Sept. 25 12:28 p.m. — Marks Road; a dirt bike was driving up and down Marks Road. Friday, Sept. 27 9:37 p.m. — Center Road/Substation Road; a vehicle ran off the roadway. The operator of the vehicle was placed in police custody. Hinckley police Wednesday, July 9 4:14 p.m. — Ledge Road; a driver was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence. Sunday, July 27 10:31 a.m. — Brookside Boulevard; a scooter that was being advertised on Facebook Marketplace was reported as stolen. The scooter was found, and the man said he was unaware that the scooter was considered stolen. Thursday, July 31 2:23 p.m. — Babcock Road; the owner of a vehicle had a suspended license for noncompliance. She was issued a citation.
