Highland High School student of the month Highland Schools announced that Nick Dobkowski is the Highland High School student of the month for September. He was nominated by social studies teacher Adam Cestaro. Dobkowski maintains an academic schedule filled with honors courses, and he is a three-sport letterman in football, basketball and baseball. Outside of school, he volunteers with his church, enjoys fishing and cuts hair for donations. "Nick is always eager to participate, demonstrates natural leadership in group projects and presentations, and maintains an outstanding academic record, all while excelling on the football field," Cestaro said He is the son of Jay and Beth Dobkowski of Hinckley. He plans to pursue a degree in business or medicine. Brunswick Rotary Club continues tradition of donating dictionaries to all third graders in Brunswick The Brunswick Rotary Club recently continued its tradition of providing dictionaries to every third grade student in Brunswick Schools and St. Ambrose. During their recent visits, Rotary members presented dictionaries while encouraging students to consider how their word choices affect others. "Words have extraordinary power in our lives, and this partnership with Brunswick Rotary helps our students understand that responsibility from an early age," Superintendent Jason Niedermeyer said. "When our students learn to communicate with empathy and clarity, they're building skills that will serve them throughout their lives. These dictionaries aren't just reference tools. They're resources that help our students become thoughtful communicators who can build positive connections with others, which is exactly what we hope for every student. I am grateful for the Rotary Club's generosity and support of students."
