Women in Art annual exhibit Women in Art will present its 2025 annual exhibit and sale from Tuesday until Sept. 28 on the third floor of the Medina Library. This year, the artists will explore the colors of the rainbow. An artist was assigned one of the seven colors of the rainbow to create a work of art. The artists who were assigned a color of the rainbow are: Teenia Geig had red. Joy Amos had orange. Deanna Clucas had yellow. Barbara Johns had green. Pat Newhauser had blue. Darlene Young had indigo. Helga Reid had violet. Since there are eight artists, Gail Martonicz was assigned the color black since it is the absence of light and not in the color spectrum. The pieces will be displayed together on a feature wall. There will also be an artist reception from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 7. Medina County Park District self-guided hiking program Medina County Park District's self-guided hiking program, Trekking Through Autumn, is coming back for its 19th year. The program allows participants to earn awards by completing at least eight designated hikes between Monday and Nov. 30. Hikers complete the walks at their own pace and on their own schedules. Trekking Through Autumn offers a choice of 12 parks and nature preserves, and hikers will check off trails as they complete them. To take part, pick up a form at Oenslager Nature Center or print one off at medinacountyparks.com. First-year hikers earn a backpack, and veteran hikers earn a pin. Pins are not available to first-year hikers. The event is free for all Medina County residents except Hinckley residents. Out-of-county residents and Hinckley residents pay $12 for the backpack and $3 for the hiking pins through cash or check only. Road closures in Medina County Camp Road in Homer Township will be closed starting Tuesday for four weeks for bridge deck replacement between Black River School Road and Wandel Road. The bridge lies approximately 700 feet north of Wandel Road. Columbia Road in York Township between Stone Road and Livia Lane will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for the replacement of culvert No. 23. The culvert lies approximately 300 feet south of Livia Lane.
