Betty L. Wheeler Betty L. Wheeler, 85 of Medina, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 25, 2025 at The Avenue of Medina. She was born February 28, 1940 in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Taft and Mary (Burton) Coffey. Betty married the love of her life, Pastor Bobby Wheeler on March 27, 1957. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2021. Together they served in the Baptist ministry for 58 years. Their ministry began at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Renfro Valley, Kentucky, and they later served at Sparksville Baptist in Sparksville, Kentucky. The family moved to the Medina area (Lafayette) in 1969, where they served together at Bethany Baptist, Victory Baptist, Charity Baptist, and lastly at Triangle Baptist in Chippewa Lake. Each congregation was blessed with their love and unwavering service. In addition to serving alongside her husband in ministry, Betty also worked as a Nursing Assistant at Medina Hospital for a number of years. Her empathetic spirit was a blessing to countless patients. Betty also worked as a cashier at Medina Kmart and later at Medina Walmart. Many customers came to consider her a friend. To know Betty was to love her! Betty is survived by her blessed daughters, Beverly Violett of Rittman, Bertha (Randy) Emmons of Creston, and Angie Wheeler of Wadsworth; her beloved grandchildren, April (Mike) Jira, Beth (Kris) Gaugler, Kayla Simmons, Kasey Simmons, Carlee (Ben) Hall, and Melanie Emmons; her pride and joy, great-grandchildren, Taylor (Seth) Rabung, Michael and McKenna Jira, Bella Moats, Connor Ross, Gabriella and Everlee Hall, Mirabella McCarthy, and Makhari Kay. In addition to her husband Bobby, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Coffey; and sister, Jean Burton. Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, Ohio, where her funeral service will be held Saturday, August 30, at 11 a.m. Pastor David Tennant will officiate.
