A-Star Construction and Remodeling opens brick and mortar space in Medina

MEDINA — A-Star Construction and Remodeling celebrated opening a physical space in Medina County with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held by the Northern Medina County Chamber Alliance on Thursday. Adam Knaack is the owner of the company, and he has been involved with the trades for years. He is a Brunswick resident who attended the Medina County Career Center for heating and cooling. He then worked in the HVAC industry for around seven to eight years but had a dream to own his own business. For nearly four years, Knaack has been in the construction and remodeling business. His company specializes in interior and exterior remodeling and handyman services for residential and commercial spaces. Knaack described the new space for the company at 891 W. Liberty St. in Medina as a central hub for materials, a place for employees to come in and a meeting spot for customers and vendors. "The space came up and seemed like it really fit our needs," he said. "We're Medina County based, and we're Brunswick and Medina strong. We're basically all around Medina County more or less, so the spot really fits around that radius as well." A-Star Construction and Remodeling is a family-based company that has four employees, Knaack said. "Adam's story is one of entrepreneurship in its purest form by seeing an opportunity, working hard and making it happen," chamber Executive Director Debbie Boehmke said. "We're very proud of him in our business community, and we can't wait to see where you're going to go from here." Growth is among his hopes for the future. Knaack said he would like the company to take on bigger jobs and start getting into building homes within the next couple of years. "Where the additions and stuff like that have led me in the last couple of years is wanting to build full custom homes and really tackle a lot more commercial," he said. "We do quite a bit of commercial now, and there's nothing but growth there. The sky is the limit for that portion of it."
