Medina County Park District continues its Music at the Lodge concert series

GRANGER TWP. — The Morning Star bluegrass band performed for an audience outside of Allardale Lodge on Sunday as part of a concert series hosted by the Medina County Park District. The Music at the Lodge concert series showcases different musical acts at each concert. Sunday's performers were a quartet that specializes in bluegrass, gospel and Americana music and plays instruments like the guitar, banjo and bass. The concerts at Allardale Lodge are sponsored by the Friends of the Medina County Parks. Medina County Park District Naturalist Natalie Dubiel said Sunday's concert was the third in the concert series, and there will be one more in September. "We've been having a really great season," she said. "We've had great turnout with a lot of interest in the music and being at the lodge in the park as well." The Medina County Park District is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year with its Parks Perk Challenge, which involves attending a Music at the Lodge concert. The challenge consists of researching, finding things and attending events to collect points, which will be exchanged for prizes. "It's encouraging folks to get out into our parks and meet different staff members and volunteers to learn more about who we are and what we do," Dubiel said. "It is also about finding different ways to enjoy our parks and recreate, whether it is culturally through music, like we're doing today, or on a hike.
