John M. Harris

John M. Harris, 78, of Marshallville, entered into rest Tuesday, July 29, 2025, following a brief illness. His beloved wife was by his side. He was born December 19, 1946, in Eastport, Maine. John later graduated in the class of 1965 from Shead High School in Eastport. He later moved to the Medina and Wayne County areas where he has resided for most of his life. John had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. For many years, he loved going to Drag races but mostly loved spending time with his family. He later married Charlotte J. Cottingham on December 1, 1984, in Wadsworth. She survives. John worked for Wooster Motor Ways as a Truck Driver for over 20 years before retiring in 2010. In addition to his loving wife of 40 years, he is survived by his four-foot feline companion, 'Fluff Nut'; his sister, Stephanie (Ralph) Simmons of Springfield, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Georgine Hobb. It was his previous wish that there be no public services, and cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691. Custer-Glenn Funeral home in Wooster is assisting the family.
