Medina County Fair crowns 2025 Royal Court

MEDINA — Aubrey Reuter, 17, of Brunswick was crowned as the Medina County Fair queen, and Jayden Tripphahn, 17, of Medina was named as the Medina County Fair king on Monday. This year, nine girls and one boy competed for the fair's Royal Court. Fair Board Director Stuart Neal said contestants between the ages of 16 and 19 submit applications listing their school activities, fair activities and community service. A panel of three judges first interviewed the contestants on July 13. "The interview was conducted much like a job interview with scoring based on interview questions, appearance, presentation, communication skills, personality, poise, activity, leadership, participation, initiative and achievement," he said. On Monday, contestants were each asked a random question and also had to say what a certain word means to them such as the word equality or consideration. The scores for each night were combined when determining a winner. Reteur recently finished her junior year at Buckeye High School. She is a member of school organizations like student council, SADD, Future Farmers of America, HUDDLE, freshman mentors, Hope Squad and National Honor Society. Outside of school, she is part of the Saturday Morning Strikers League, Thursday Youth League and the Kolony Youth League. Reuter received awards such as outstanding 4-H project and an athletic letter while also being recognized for academic excellence. She is a four-year member of the Buckeye Bunch 4-H Club as well. At the fair, Reuter will take part in market poultry and a still exhibit. Tripphahn just finished his junior year at Medina High School. He has participated in the school's drama club for the past three years. He also takes part in the annual summer musical with a youth community theater group. Tripphahn is also a nine-year member of the Sharon Flying Horse and Pony 4-H Club. At the fair, he participates in sewing for others. Gabriella Izzo, 18, of Lafayette Township was named as the first runner-up, and Domonique Levandoski, 17, of Liverpool Township, was the second runner-up. Last year's fair queen Jillian Sohar gave advice to the newly crowned queen like taking each and every opportunity available to her. "Say yes, even when it feels scary," she said. "Talk to new people, try new things and remember that your goal is not just wearing a crown. It's about representing the heart of this fair and the people who make it what it is."
