Medina County Medical Reserve Corps celebrates 19 years The Medina County Health Department announced the 19th anniversary of the Medina County Medical Reserve Corps. The corps is a national network of volunteers, who are both medical and nonmedical. It was created after 9/11 when thousands of volunteers offered their services to support response and recovery efforts. When it was formed in 2006, Medina County Medical Reserve Corps had around 45 volunteers. Today, the organization has grown to more than 550 volunteers. Volunteers do not need a medical background or any special skills to be part of the organization but need a willingness to help in a time of need. Medina to flush hydrants The Medina Water Department will flush fire hydrants on weekdays in July. If hydrant flushing proceeds ahead of the weekly schedule, crews may proceed to the next week's streets. If so, those streets will be marked with signage indicating hydrant flushing.
