Brunswick Hills appoints new fiscal officer

BRUNSWICK HILLS TWP. — The Brunswick Hills trustees appointed a new person to fill the open fiscal officer position during its meeting Tuesday. Bob Roksandich was appointed effective Friday, and he was not in attendance at Tuesday's meeting. He is the fourth person to fill the role this year. The trustees said they are excited about Roksandich taking over the role, and he seems like a promising fit for the township. "We're happy to have him," trustee Ryan Nixon said. "Both him and (former fiscal officer) Lisa (James) had very, very strong financial backgrounds, and we know he'll do well." To remain fiscal officer, Roksandich will have to run for the position in the general election later this year to fill the remainder of the term. James held the role from the end of April to May 30, and she cited the time requirements for the position in her resignation email. In March, Barb Thomas served as fiscal officer. In her resignation, Thomas said she did not anticipate the hours that she put in with the position. Prior to Thomas, Linda Kuenzer was the fiscal officer. She resigned on March 3 and said she had a lack of support from the township. She was elected as fiscal officer in November 2023 after running unopposed.
