Wadsworth newlyweds celebrate marriage by attending Megan Moroney concert during their reception

CLEVELAND — As country artist Megan Moroney played a slower song at Jacobs Pavilion in Cleveland on June 14, eyes turned toward the aisle as two newlyweds danced into the venue, a moment that quickly went viral. Wadsworth residents Jackie and Dillon Mullins met through mutual friends and started dating at the end of 2020. The two got engaged in October 2023 and began planning their wedding, setting the date for June 14. Then, Moroney announced her tour in September. "She's one of my favorite country artists," Jackie Mullins said. "When I saw that she was coming to Cleveland on her tour date, I was like 'Oh, great! Maybe I can go to her concert.' But then, it said June 14 and I go, 'well, I'm busy that day.'" With Moroney's concert at Jacobs Pavilion and the Mullins' wedding reception next door at Windows on the River, Jackie Mullins talked to their wedding planner and the venue staff about the possibilities of seeing Moroney in any capacity. While the staff was hesitant about the chances, Jackie Mullins said she just wanted to put it out there. During the Mullins' reception, after the speeches and first dances were done, the wedding planner pulled Jackie aside and told her they had a surprise for her. Jackie Mullins left the room with the wedding planner and headed downstairs, where the Windows in the River staff were waiting for her. The wedding planner then asked Jackie, "Remember when you talked about wanting to go to the concert and see her? Come this way." Jackie Mullins asked someone to grab Dillon, then the two walked over to the concert venue with the staff to watch Moroney perform for a few minutes. "I didn't think that any of that was going to happen," Jackie Mullins said. As the two walked out, dressed in their wedding attire, Jackie Mullins said everyone was being sweet and congratulating them. At first, the two danced to the side of the stage and the stands, but then the security guards told them they could go dance in the venue's pathways. Moroney began playing "Girl in the Mirror," which is a slower, acoustic song. Then, Jackie and Dillon Mullins began slow dancing, with concert attendees' phone flashlights surrounding them. "All the emotions were running through my body," Jackie Mullins said. "I just told myself, 'Just live in the moment. Just enjoy your time here. Just take it all in and don't think about anything else except right now dancing with him in front of everybody.'" After the two danced and saw Moroney perform for a few minutes, they headed back to the reception to celebrate the rest of the evening. The following morning, Jackie Mullins started receiving texts from her friends who saw video clips of them dancing at the concert on TikTok. "I didn't realize it was that big of a deal until I had like 10 different videos of me and my husband dancing," Jackie Mullins said. As of Tuesday afternoon, there were more than 10 videos shared on TikTok with more than 1.7 million views of the Mullins dancing at Moroney's concert. Some of the video text read, "Bride found her Mr. Right," "What a wedding night story to tell the grandkids," and "I see my future and it's bright." "It was just amazing to see how many people were watching the videos," Jackie Mullins said. Some comments were from people who attended the concert, saying how sweet a moment it was, while others were from people trying to help find the bride to share it with her. Jackie Mullins said it was sweet to read all the comments, with so many people being so nice to her and Dillon. Since the videos have gone viral, Jackie Mullins was interviewed on 96.5 KISS FM and their story has been posted on several platforms. With both Jackie and Dillon Mullins being fans of Moroney, Jackie said it was the perfect scenario.
