Heart of Ohio officially opens in Brunswick with community service initiative

BRUNSWICK — Heart of Ohio expressed the importance of community building and acts of kindness as it celebrated its official opening in Brunswick with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday. The company provides HVAC, plumbing and electrical services for residential and commercial properties. Jesse Warren, president of Heart of Ohio, said he he began buying small companies within the industry in 2019. "People love these companies," he said. "I was always going to keep them separate, but I realized as it grew and grew and grew that I have a problem. I have six locations, and that's a lot for me." The companies were combined into the Heart of Ohio, which has just under 100 employees, Warren said. The company's headquarters were built at 1988 Pearl Road in Brunswick and other offices were created in Bedford Heights and Smithville. "(Brunswick) is where I'll bring all the residential companies, and they can all be together, work together and just have fun together," he said. Warren said Brunswick was selected as the headquarters because it seemed like a good central location to serve customers from all over. He already owned the property and then bought the lot next to it as well. "This is a nice-looking building and a nice little property," Vice Mayor Nick Hanek said. "You're a part of the first substantial investments that we've had south of Laurel (Road) in a really long time. I really want to thank you because I know this represents a lot of jobs and a lot of people's livelihoods." The name for the company developed while he was speaking with his friend. The idea came after he said that he loves the customers and the employees, and his heart is really in all the companies he purchased. "I feel so good in giving back to the community and being a good servant in the community," Warren said. "I don't want to be a contractor that just wants to go do the job. I want to make sure that we're taking care of our customers, and that they feel like they're working with family." Heart of Ohio is doing an initiative in which people can come to the headquarters through the end of the month to nominate themselves or others who are in need. This month, the company is giving away a new HVAC system, but the goal is to continue acts of kindness within the community. "We want the community to know that we want to help them, and we want our guys to go out there and pay attention to people," he said. "Does their grass need a cut or does it look like something's wrong? Are they saying they can't afford the bill? Let's talk about it and let's figure out how we help them."
