Medina Schools receives Ohio EPA grant There are 41 governments, businesses, schools and nonprofits in northeast Ohio that received $1.6 million in Recycle Ohio grants from the Ohio EPA. Funding will go to litter prevention and cleanup programs, education and outreach, scrap tire collections, recycling marketing development and the expansion of recycling facilities and infrastructure. Medina SchoolS received $300,000. The funds will go to scrap tires for civil engineering or construction projects. Zoning board basics workshop There will be a zoning board basics workshop at 6 p.m. June 24 at Lafayette Township Hall at 6776 Wedgewood Road. The introductory workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the essential functions and duties of zoning boards. Birthcare of Medina County scholarships available Scholarship applications for 2025 registered clients of Birthcare of Medina County are now available online at birthcaremedina.org or in its office at 620 E. Smith Road, E-5A, in Medina during office hours. Office hours are 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, noon to 2 p.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. The application deadline is Monday. Awards are based on application, essay and need. Birthcare of Medina County is a nonprofit providing assistance to families with young children in need. Last year, three applicants were awarded scholarships for tuition in educational or job training programs.
