Eleanor 'Ellie' R. Bischof

Eleanor 'Ellie' R. Bischof, 89, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025. She was born April 4, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Louis and Edna (Millonig) Karlsberger.Ellie grew up in Columbus, Ohio and was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary of the Springs Academy. She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree at St. John's College of Cleveland in June of 1959. Ellie was a registered nurse for 45 years. She worked at multiple locations throughout her career, including Medina Hospital's Emergency Room, the VA Hospital, and Tri-C's Student Health Center.Ellie met her husband, Ronald 'Ron', in 1955 at the Newman Center at Western Reserve University. Married in November of 1959, they chose to raise their family in Montville Township where they built their dream home, designed by Ellie's father, in 1967. They lived the entirety of their lives enjoying this home and the life they created together.Ellie and Ron were married 64 years before Ron's passing in November of 2023. Ellie's entire life focus was her family. She was a dedicated, loving, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devoted partner to Ron, actively supporting him in his community involvement and contributing her time and energy to his endeavors. Ron had once jokingly said that Ellie was the 'First Lady' of Montville Township.Ellie deeply loved and enjoyed spending time with her three children and their spouses, eleven grandchildren and their spouses, and seven great-grandchildren. Through every season of life, Ellie remained a steadfast supporter of her children and grandchildren. From attending sports games, concerts, fundraisers and more, her family could count on her to be right by their side, cheering them on with unwavering pride. She enjoyed family vacations together, especially twenty-seven years on their houseboat in Kentucky and seven years traveling in their RV.Ellie is survived by and will be dearly missed by her children, Deanna (Robert) Zabinski of League City, Texas, Todd (Annette) Bischof of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Thad (Laura) Bischof of Medina, Ohio; her grandchildren, Sarah (Zane), Rachel (Jonathan), David (Valerie), Tyler (Chelsea), Ryan, Nathan, Jamie, Brandon, Kelly, Garrett, and Lauren; great-grandchildren, Zane-Luke, Archie, Brooks, Hazel, Charlie, Lucía, and Oliver; sister, Anne Sagan; and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends.In addition to her parents and husband, Ron; she was preceded in death by their newborn son, Craig; and her brothers, Robert Karlsberger and Ray Karlsberger.The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Saturday, June 21, 2025. A funeral Mass will begin at 12 Noon, followed by procession to Poe Cemetery where Ellie will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Medina County.
