Harry Carton Baker

Harry Carton Baker, 85, of Lodi, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 8, 2025. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Janet; his children, Lora (Rick) Clester, Melinda (Dave) Halliburton, Brenda Baker (Yvonne McCall), Bob (Donna) Baker; as well as 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Harry was born in Morgantown, Kentucky, to Hassie and Elroy on December 18, 1939. Harry lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of many people along the way. In school at Lodi, he played football and was a member of FFA. He raised pigs to fund his further education at Diesel Mechanic School in St. Louis, Missouri. After graduating, Harry married his high-school sweetheart, Janet. His first job was as a Mechanic at the Lodi Ford Dealership. He then worked for Consolidated Freightways in Richfield for 32 years. After retiring, he continued to work and bought a semi tractor trailer, hauling steel in Ohio for 16 years. Harry was a lifetime blood donor, donating over 16 gallons. He worked hard and was an exceptional example to his family. He coached Little League and was a member of Lodi Methodist Church. Harry loved gardening, yard sales, and his running ducks. He was a kind man that loved nature and was well known as the 'Duck Man'. He loved to work with his son on their produce farm. He was an avid bird watcher and sunflowers were his trademark. Each year, sunflowers grew tall for everyone on Janice Street to enjoy. Family and friends are all invited to attend a graveside memorial in Woodlawn Cemetery on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 3 p.m., followed by a luncheon in Lodi Methodist Church. In memory of Harry, donations can be made to the Lodi Methodist Church or any charity of your choice. Harry, Dad, and Grandpa will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Until we meet again...
