Charles Ronald Hokins (1939-2025)

Charles R. Hokins died peacefully Friday, January 3, 2025, at the age of 85. Ron was born in Vindex, Maryland, a lumber and coal mining town on a tributary of the Potomac River May 21, 1939. He is survived by his beloved and treasured wife, Gertie; and sons, Scott and Steve Ashie. Ron is preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Patton. Ron was a proud Veteran of the US Army and Ohio National Guard. Ron worked as a Motor Balancer at Ford Motor and after 30 plus years retired in 1997. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a great story teller and would always share his battle with animals trying to eat the plants in his vegetable garden. So if you have time, 'Come and tell a story and say Hello'. Family will receive family and friends Saturday, January 18, from 10 to 11 a.m. in Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Medina.
