Just Eat the Cookie expands to brick-and-mortar store in Wadsworth

WADSWORTH — A local cookie artist has decided to expand her business into a brick-and-mortar store in downtown Wadsworth. Vee Andexler, owner of Just Eat the Cookie and recent contestant on the Food Network's Christmas Cookie Challenge, has announced that her custom cookie company based in Wadsworth will soon expand into a new facility. Andexler's products can be found in a variety of locations including the Makery, Beriswill Farm Market and Uniquely Handmade for You, but they will soon be sold out of a bakery at 138 Main St. "We will still be selling inside of Uniquely Handmade for You, but since the store is right next door it will be easy for me to stock," Andexler said. "I will be able to also bring in some new cookies and cookie products, as well as retail for baking supplies. Both locations will have our cookies." She said she felt the business was ready for growth. "We just celebrated five years back in July with a great turnout and support from the community," Andexler said. "We are always about giving back to the community, so we are always looking at ways to grow with Wadsworth and people who support us." The idea behind expanding the business stems from offering Wadsworth cookies and cookie decorating supplies that can't be found locally in an effort to help people save time. Andexler said the store will have baking supplies that she uses on daily basis. She wants to solve the problem of finding high-end baking supplies, like cookie stencils, brushes and airbrushes, locally and support the bakers of Wadsworth, both large and small. "I would love to be able to give back to the community with tips and tricks, like what kind of things might work best for someone," she said. "Maybe they even have an item suggestion, and we don't carry it at the time. I'm all about having people say the items that they would like to have and offer that in the store." The new location will have a working bakery that will open the same day as the retail side of the store. "You'll be able to get our custom cookies, our mini apple pies, and maybe some other recipes that have been kept in my family for a very long time," Andexler said. "We are going to have a whole bakery section available for purchase at all times." With more space, she said they will be able to offer cookie classes at the store, where Andexler can teach people how to make and decorate cookies. Just Eat the Cookie will share the store with Quaint, a boutique carrying men's and women's clothing, as well as houseware. Andexler said she is excited about the expansion and looks forward to opening the store to the public, though no grand opening date has been announced.
