Gerald Claude Arnold

Gerald Claude Arnold, 89, passed away peacefully Monday, October 14, 2024, in Medina, Ohio. He was born June 27, 1935, in Bay Village, Ohio, to the late Gerald Prentice and Charlotte (Wright) Arnold. Jerry served his Country proudly during his years in the U.S. Air Force. After the service he went on to work at BF Goodrich where he took an early retirement and started a career in Real Estate with his wife, Charlene. He then worked as a long-distance driver for a local auto dealership. His passions included fishing, in Canada and Lake Erie. Jerry held both helicopter and pilot's licenses and avidly enjoyed flying. Everyone who knew him was aware that Jerry was happiest in the company of his beloved family. Above all, he always took time to enjoy being 'Gramps'. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. He is survived by his loving daughter, Denise Burmeister; three grandchildren, Erica (John) Wood, Chase (Ali) Burmeister, and April (Nick) Pillar; seven great-grandchildren, Evelyn Balliet, Briauna Archer, Elizabeth Pillar, Vivian Burmeister, Delaney Pillar, Owen Burmeister, and Dominic Pillar; his brother, John Arnold; along with a lifetime of friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Charlene (Murray) Arnold; his son, William P. Arnold; parents, Gerald Prentice Arnold, Charlotte Newberger and stepfather, Laverne Newberger. The family will receive friends Friday, October 18, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Waite Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, 765 N.
