Medina County Career Center September student of the month Medina High School senior Lily LaMarca was selected as the Medina County Kiwanis September student of the month for the Medina County Career Center by a panel of her peers. She is a senior in the engineering technology and design program. She served as the reporter for her program for two years. At her home school, LaMarca was a member of the girl's golf team for three years and was awarded the three-year plaque as a junior. She was also involved in Volunteer Opportunities for Teens for two years and volunteered at H.G. Blake Elementary School and for Medina High School outdoor cleanup day. At the Career Center, she served as a student ambassador for two years and volunteered for the engineering technology and design car show. LaMarca takes Advanced Placement history and chemistry and College Credit Plus college composition. Throughout high school, she was named to the honor roll and was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society as a junior. She is the daughter of Hillary and David LaMarca. She plans to attend college following graduation. Matt Gregory named as assistant treasurer of Medina Schools Matt Gregory was officially appointed as assistant treasurer of Medina Schools during the September board of education meeting. He will succeed Laura Molnar, who recently became treasurer at the Summit County Educational Service Center. "I look forward to joining the Medina Bees family and supporting the academic excellence of Medina City Schools," he said. "As a parent of a Medina bee and future bees, I am excited to give back to my community. Medina is a special place, and I am thrilled to be a part of it." Gregory served as treasurer for the Educational Service Center of Medina County for over three years. He also has experience as assistant treasurer at South Euclid Lyndhurst Schools and Buckeye Local Schools. Throughout his career, he gained experience in payroll, accounts payable and financial management. Gregory has a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting and is a California University of Pennsylvania graduate. "We are thrilled to welcome Matt to the treasurer's office," Treasurer David Chambers said. "His diverse expertise and proven success in financial operations will be a tremendous asset to our team."
