Attorney says plaintiff in Deshaun Watson lawsuit plans to meet with NFL within next two weeks and share a video

BEREA — The NFL's investigation of a new sexual assault accusation against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will quickly pick up steam.The woman, who's referred to as "Jane Doe" in the civil lawsuit filed Monday in Harris County, Texas, intends to meet with investigators from the league within the next two weeks, her attorney confirmed to The Chronicle-Telegram on Thursday.Pro Football Talk was first to report a similar statement.Jordan Akins says he can do 'everything' David Njoku can, looking forward to making plays in expanded role"We will be scheduling a meeting with the NFL and hope that can be accomplished in the next two week," attorney Tony Buzbee wrote in a text message to The Chronicle. "We have a video and two additional witnesses for the NFL to speak with."He said it was his client's decision to agree to the NFL's request to interview her.The woman accuses Watson of sexual assault and battery in 2020, including vaginal penetration without consent, implicit or explicit, according to the lawsuit."Watson roughly sexually assaulted Jane Doe for several minutes," the lawsuit stated.Watson said Wednesday he "strongly denies" the allegations. NFL special counsel for investigations Lisa Friel, a former chief of the sex crimes unit in the Manhattan District Attorney's office, led the previous Watson investigation and will lead this one, a league source told cleveland.com.The NFL will interview Watson at some point."It hasn't crossed my mind," he said Wednesday. "If that happens, whatever I have to do with the Browns or my legal team, then that time will come."The results of the investigation could lead to another suspension for Watson.
