Ronald Stanley Theiss

Ronald Stanley Theiss, 74, of Spencer, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024. He was born to the late Richard F. and Lillian H. (Ellerman) Theiss on September 17, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. Ronald was a college professor at North Harris College in Texas. After living in Texas for over 40 years, Ron returned to Ohio so he could enjoy all four seasons. He was a member and former chairman of the American Welding Society (AWS), Houston Section, and had a scholarship named in his honor. Ron was also an instructor for AWS for many years; most recently, he taught nine-year recertifications and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) classes. Ron was a member of the Izaak Walton League, NRA, and Chatham Historical Society. Ronald was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, enjoyed farming, and was a gun, motorcycle, and maple syrup enthusiast. Ronald is survived by his children, Heather Atwood (Todd) and Chandra Stovall (Jess); his nine grandchildren; his brother, John Theiss; nieces, nephew, and great-nieces; and a host of colleagues and a lifetime of collected friends. He was preceded by his parents and his brother, Rich Theiss, Jr. A Celebration of his Life will be held at his family farm Saturday, October 5, 2024.
