Jodi Robbins named interim director of Medina County Convention & Visitors Bureau

MEDINA — The Medina County Convention & Visitors Bureau has named a new interim director. According to the visitors bureau, Jodi Robbins was selected to fill the role. She is replacing Shannon Carter, who became executive director in July and stepped down from the position in April because of another career opportunity. Robbins has more than 15 years of experience in economic development and education. She began her career at the visitors bureau in March 2023, and managed operations until August. After that, she worked as the bureau's program director. "During her tenure, Shannon helped to update Medina County's tourism image at the state and national level and boosted our appeal to the convention and bus tour markets," bureau board Chair Bethany Dentler said. "Jodi is well positioned to take MCCVB's operations to the next level." Dentler said Robbins is a good fit for the position because of her business development and community outreach experience. Robbins also played a key role in creating new tourism strategies and focusing on digital marketing. "Jodi has also been a dedicated volunteer and fierce community advocate for the 20 years that she and her family have lived in Medina County," Dentler said. "I look forward to working with county tourism businesses to ensure that the culture of Medina County's destination status remains vibrant and welcoming," Robbins said. The bureau is charged with promoting Medina County as a destination for visitors through the county's attractions, events, hospitality and stores and making the public aware of the historic, cultural and recreational activities in the county.
