Columbia Gas of Ohio gives update on West 130th Street project Columbia Gas of Ohio is continuing work on a new natural gas pipeline on West 130th Street in Brunswick. Crews will focus primarily on the installation of the line on both Marland Drive and by Crestview Elementary School. The project is made of relatively short sections of pipe, so the installation is not anticipated to take long. Flaggers will be on hand to assist all traffic through the work zones. Columbia Gas aims to be wrapped up and have all customers transferred over to the new system by the end of February, unless there are complications because of the weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Final paving will take place in the spring. Chatham Township has open zoning secretary position Chatham Township is looking for a zoning secretary for the Chatham Township Zoning Department. Safe sitter babysitting class There will be a safe sitter babysitting class from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Educational Service Center of Medina County at 275 Center St. in Seville. The classes are for kids ages 11 to 14. The program's instructors are nurses who have completed the safe sitter instructor workshop. The updated curriculum includes safety, child care, first aid and rescue as well as life and business skills. Registration for the class ends on Friday. Alzheimer's caregiver support group The Wadsworth area Alzheimer's caregiver support group meets on the first Thursday of every month from 1-2 p.m. The group meets at the Soprema Senior Center at 617 School Drive in Wadsworth. The support group gives caregivers a chance to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. Participants are educated and informed on Alzheimer's, and they are given the tools to solve problems.
