Donna Louise Lynch

Donna Louise Lynch (nee Glunt) of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the age of 88. Mrs. Lynch, local educator and administrator, was born June 8, 1935 in Highland Park, Michigan. She graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1953. She received her BA degree in Education from Kent State University in 1971, and her MA from LaVerne College in 1980. Donna served first as a teacher at Belden Elementary for 13 years and then as Principal of Grafton Elementary for 8 years. One of her fondest memories as a Principal was participating in a pilot project with NASA, where 2 schools took old school buses and converted them to resemble space ships. Choosing students to play astronauts they traveled to each other's 'planets' (schools). This project garnered national attention from newspapers to magazines. She retired from Midview in 1995 with over 32 years in education. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina for over 50 years. She enjoyed her family, camping, traveling, and attending the grandchildren's athletic events. Donna leaves behind her five children; daughter, Cathleen Lynch of Seville, Ohio; daughter, Patricia Van Leeuwen (Mark) of Fowlerville, Michigan; son, Charles Lynch (Sharon) of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; son, Christopher Lynch of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; and Michael Lynch of Kentucky. She was the grandmother of fifteen; and great-grandmother of seventeen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles R Lynch; parents, Thomas and Dorothy Glunt; and siblings, Thomas Glunt II and Kathy Parks.
