The Reverend David B. Foster

The Reverend David B. Foster, 78, of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, November 25, 2023. David was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Harold and Pearl (nee Baldwin) June 1, 1945. He moved to Medina at age 13, graduated from Medina High School in 1963, and lived there until God called him home. David entered the Christian ministry in 1968, gladly obeying his calling to serve God. His steadfast devotion to help others know Christ continued throughout his life. He cherished his service in the U.S. Army, viewing the flag of our nation as a symbol of liberty and freedom. He was also proud of his lineage dating back to the Mayflower, Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and the Civil War. He remained a devoted member of the Sons of the American Revolution for many years and received numerous awards. David was a prolific writer and poet, publishing many books. His greatest writing accomplishment was 'An Epic of Job, The Biblical Warrior-Priest' which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He had incredible love for his family, especially his wife, Catherine, whom he cherished. They were married for nearly 35 years and together they raised their two beloved children. Their daughter followed in his footsteps, becoming a writer and their son a career Firemedic. His abundant love overflowed to his precious grandchildren. David will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Catherine (nee Somerville) Foster; his loving children, Emily (Jess) Billesbach and David (Lauren) Foster II; stepdaughter, Megan (Evan) Jurecki; grandchildren, Bennett, Michael, David, Jacob, Natalie, Cadence, and Grayson; his sister, Sandra (nee Foster) Davis; and three sons from a previous marriage; Timothy, Bryon, and Thomas. Friends and family may call Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, OH, 44212 from 6 until 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. David will be laid to rest with honors at Mound Hill Cemetery in Seville, OH.
