Robert Hershel Moats

Robert Hershel Moats, 85, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, November 12, 2023, in Chippewa Lake, Ohio. He was born December 20, 1937, in Circleville, Ohio to the late Herschel and Bessie (Shipley) Moats. Bob retired after 30 plus years working at the Hearst Corporation before retiring. Upon retiring he continued his second work life career of over 10 plus years at the Medina Recreation Center. His friendly attitude and engaging personality made him a favorite at the Medina Rec. Bob was also a gifted and talented artist who was well known for his work in the local area. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bob is survived by his children, Perry (Lynda) Moats, Scott (Laura) Moats and Christy L. Moats; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Logan, Rhianna, Lacey, Landon, Jessica, and Josiah; great-granddaughter, Norah; sisters, Terri Peciul and Jodi Gacy. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Phyllis (Will) Moats (2007); his parents; and many siblings. The family will receive friends for Bob's Celebration of Life Friday, November 17, 2023, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Oaks Lakeside Restaurant, 5878 Longacre Ln, Chippewa Lake, OH 44215.
