Brunswick, Brunswick Hills and Hinckley police blotter for Nov. 9

Brunswick police Wednesday, Nov. 1 5:47 a.m. — Brunswick Lake Parkway/Center Road; a driver failed to maintain control of their vehicle, drove off the left side of the road and struck the curb and a street sign. 10:54 a.m. — Town Center Boulevard; officers responded to the Comfort Inn for a welfare check. Management said there was a nonresponsive man inside a vehicle in the parking lot. The man was identified as Douglas Murphy, 55, of Seville. He had an open bottle of Black Velvet Whiskey in the passenger seat, and most of it was gone, officers reported. He was cited for open container and transported to the Cleveland Clinic for alcohol poisoning. 2:34 p.m. — Theota Avenue; contact was made with Andrew Susak, 28, of Cleveland, who had an active felony warrant for his arrest out of the Medina County Sheriff's Office for fleeing and eluding. He had two additional warrants out of Cuyahoga County for obstructing justice and carrying concealed weapons. He was arrested and transported to the Medina County Jail without incident. Friday, Nov. 3 3:17 a.m. — Pearl Road/Center Road; a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle, and the operator, Megan Miezejewski, 35, of Medina, was suspected of possession of marijuana. She was issued citations into Brunswick Mayor's Court. Saturday, Nov. 4 5:14 p.m. — Bagley Road; Michelle Morgan, 55, of Parma Heights, was arrested on a Medina Municipal Court warrant for obstructing official business. Brunswick police took custody of her, and she was taken to the Medina County Jail without incident. 5:19 p.m. — Bagley Road; Lakeisha Elder, 27, of Cleveland, was arrested by the Cleveland Metroparks Police Department on an outstanding Brunswick Mayor's Court traffic warrant. Brunswick police took custody of her, and she was transported to the Medina County Jail. Sunday, Nov. 5 6:16 a.m. — 4000 block of Center Road; Rocky River police contacted Brunswick police regarding Antonio Diaz, 30, of Brunswick. He had a warrant through Brunswick Mayor's Court for failure to appear on an original charge of disorderly conduct while intoxicated. He was transported to the Medina County Jail without incident. Monday, Nov. 6 11:33 a.m. — Grafton Road/Pearl Road; a three-vehicle crash occurred. 11:14 p.m. — Hadcock Road/Center Road; a traffic stop was conducted. Suezann Maeder, 25, of North Ridgeville, was found to have a suspended driver's license and was issued traffic citations. Passenger Matthew Michalewicz, 25, of Northfield, was issued citations for drug abuse and paraphernalia after marijuana and paraphernalia were located within the vehicle. Tuesday, Nov. 7 4:29 p.m. — Applewood Drive; a man reported that he received a phone call, and the person offered him a discount on his monthly Spectrum bill if he gave them $624 in Target gift cards. He did so, and he realized the following day it was a scam. Brunswick Hills police Wednesday, Nov. 1 8:06 a.m. — Center Road/Marks Road; one vehicle struck another after failing to yield. A vehicle was also cited for fictitious license plates. 4:57 p.m. — 4800 block of Center Road; one vehicle struck another and drove into a ditch. Friday, Nov. 3 10:40 p.m. — Interstate 71; a vehicle struck a deer. Saturday, Nov. 4 10:13 a.m. — Whetstone Circle; a man reported fraud. Hinckley police Sunday, Sept. 2 4:59 p.m. — Bohemia Trail; a man reported a possible temporary protection order violation. Monday, Sept. 25 9:26 a.m. — Morning Star Drive/Ledge Road; a vehicle struck a mailbox and left the scene. Sunday, Oct. 1 12:02 a.m. — Center Road/Skyland Fall Boulevard; a traffic stop was conducted. While speaking with the driver, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and several bags of marijuana and possible LSD were located. Citations were given. Saturday, Oct. 13 12:26 p.m. — 2200 block of Center Road; police assisted a citizen with picking up property. Saturday, Oct. 14 2:15 p.m. — Ridge Road; witnesses reported that a vehicle almost hit several cars head on and was traveling at more than 80 mph. Officers observed the vehicle attempt to pass a vehicle in a no passing zone, and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver was issued a citation for improper passing and reckless operation.
