Claire Irene Spero

Claire Irene (Novitsky) Spero passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in Sandusky, at the age of 87. Claire was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1936, to Stanley and Anna Novitsky. She attended Brunswick High School. Claire worked many years for the Brunswick City Schools Board of Education. Later in life, she moved to Catawba Island, to be closer to her son and his family. Claire loved spending time with her children and their wives, her grandchildren, and her girlfriends. She loved flowers and gardening, reading, roller skating, cats and dogs, going to the movies, eating ice cream, camping and boating, traveling, and was a life-long fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Anna Novitsky; her husband, Simon Spero; and her son, Keith Spero. She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Bonnie) Spero; grandchildren, Jamie Spero and Brittany Spero; her daughter-in-law, Connie Spero; as well as her sister and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
