Brunswick and Brunswick Hills police blotter for Aug. 3

Brunswick police Tuesday, July 25 10:04 p.m. — 3200 block of Center Road; officers received a report of an intoxicated man who was sitting outside the building. Victor Torres, 61, of Brunswick, was found to be in possession of two open containers of vodka and had an active failure to appear warrant. He also left garbage in the parking lot. He was cited with disorderly conduct, open container and littering before being transported to the Brunswick Cleveland Clinic and then the Medina County Jail. 11:10 p.m. — 4000 block of Center Road; a woman turned in a Capital One credit card that she found. Wednesday, July 26 4:55 p.m. — Interstate 71; one vehicle rear-ended another. 9:54 p.m. — Independence Drive; the Medina County Jail said they had Angel Bowe, 47, of Akron, in their custody who had an active Medina Municipal Court failure to appear warrant on an original charge from Brunswick for passing bad checks. A copy of the warrant was sent to the jail and served to her. Thursday, July 27 9:11 p.m. — North Carpenter Road/Center Road; an officer observed a vehicle commit several moving infractions. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with Mary Weiss. She had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person, and she admitted to consuming alcohol. Weiss was unable to perform field sobriety testing and was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. She submitted to a chemical urinalysis, was issued citations and was transported to her residence. Friday, July 28 9:03 a.m. — Bennett Road; Kaiyla Hall, 23, of Cleveland, was found to have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of marijuana possession from Brunswick Mayor's Court. She was transported to the Medina County Jail without incident. Saturday, July 29 12:22 p.m. — 3800 block of Center Road; Meijer reported shoplifting and said the woman left in a vehicle. An officer located the suspect vehicle and identified the operator, Amanda Brazytis, 40, of Brunswick. She was placed under arrest for theft and the active failure to appear warrant out of Brunswick Mayor's Court. She was released with no trespass orders, a new summons to appear in court for the warrant, misdemeanor summons for theft and traffic citations. 2:50 p.m. — 1900 block of Pearl Road; a man reported that an employee was stealing from his business. He said that Kristen Teschler had a client personally pay her $200 for a service rather than the salon. The business owner wished to pursue charges and have her trespass from the building. Teschler was cited into Brunswick Mayor's Court for petty theft. 8:39 p.m. — West 130 Street; a deer that was hit by a car was dispatched. Sunday, July 30 5:08 a.m. — Bagley Road; officers met with Linndale police to take custody of Jovandean Virella, 25, of Brooklyn, who had a failure to appear warrant on multiple traffic citations out of Brunswick Mayor's Court. Officers took custody of him and transported him to the Medina County Jail. 2:54 p.m. — 3500 block of Center Road; a registration check revealed that the registered owner, Alicia Janovyak, 42, of Brunswick, had an active warrant through the Medina County Sheriff's Office. A traffic stop was conducted, and she was taken into custody. The passenger Christopher Knierim, 40, of Zanesville, had an active warrant from Strongsville police, so he was also taken into custody. 7:41 p.m. — I-71; a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for speeding and window tint. The operator Cartier Paul, 19, of Cleveland, was found to be in possession of marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and a firearm. He was issued citations into Medina Municipal Court and transported to the Medina County Jail. Monday, July 31 2:24 p.m. — Town Center Boulevard; a deputy contacted Brunswick police to serve a warrant to Michael Ziman, 49, of Akron, for nonpayment of child support. Ziman was also issued traffic citations for driving under suspension and was transported to the Medina County Jail. 9:23 p.m. — Wood Park Lane; a woman reported identity theft. Brunswick Hills police Wednesday, July 26 2:39 p.m. — Pearl Road/Sleepy Hollow Road; one vehicle rear-ended another. Thursday, July 27 7:26 a.m. — Marks Road/Winter Brook Drive; a vehicle struck a deer. 10:15 p.m. — Pearl Road/Bluebell Parkway; a vehicle struck a deer. Sunday, July 30 12:28 a.m. — Center Road/Marks Road; a vehicle drove off the roadway and struck a ditch.
