Medina County Board of Elections finalizes temporary and permanent polling location changes

MEDINA — The Medina County Board of Elections finalized which polling locations have been temporarily or permanently relocated for the upcoming Aug. 8 election during the board meeting on Thursday. Medina County voters will see a single issue, Issue 1, a statewide constitutional amendment. Just over 15 precincts were temporarily moved for the summer special election while four precincts were permanently moved. The following polling locations have been changed for the August election only: Those who usually vote at the Medina County Fairgrounds will temporarily go to A.I. Root Middle School. Those who usually vote at NOW Church in Wadsworth will temporarily go to Isham Elementary School. The following polling locations have been permanently changed starting with the August election: Those who used to vote at CGI Medina will go to Cornerstone Chapel in Medina. Those who used to vote at Towslee Elementary School in Brunswick will go to Huntington Elementary School or Kidder Elementary School. To find your correct polling location, visit bit.ly/3KauyvY. Prior to Thursday's board meeting, the Medina County Board of Elections conducted its public test, which determines if the ballot counting machines are working correctly. The Board of Elections said the test showed that the machines were counting the ballots properly once again. Medina County Board of Elections Director Nicole Mickley said the board had been working on reviewing, examining and verifying signatures on petitions for "The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety Amendment" and "An Act to Control and Regulate Adult Use Cannabis." "We need to give a huge credit to the staff, part-time and full-time, everybody has gone above and beyond to help us reach that goal," Mickley said. "We couldn't have gotten that far without their help. It's incredible the support we have and the dedication that we have on staff here."
