Michaeline 'Mickey' Marhefka

Michaeline 'Mickey' (Kamczyc) Marhefka, 72, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Medina. She was born to the late Leona (Slusarski) and Alfred Kamczyc in Cleveland on July 22, 1950 and was the oldest of seven children. Mickey married her husband, Paul on September 12th, 1970, and would be celebrating 53 years of marriage this year. After raising her four children, Mickey spent 23 years working at St. Francis Xavier Parish, where she held positions both in the school cafeteria and in the Parish rectory. She has spent her last 17 years watching her family grow to nine grandchildren, five girls and four boys, who lovingly referred to her as 'Busha'. Mickey is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Paul Marhefka; her loving children, John (Beth) Marhefka, Cheryl (Tom) Haibach and Courtney (Justin) McDannel, and her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Xavier, and Kate Marhefka, Leonie, Gannon, Genevieve and Lydia Haibach and Maverick and Violet McDannel. Mickey was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carrie Marhefka and parents, Leona and Alfred. Mickey will be missed dearly though we know she finds her home and her healed heart as she is greeted by her heavenly angels. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, OH 44256. A committal service will follow Mass at St. Francis Church Cemetery, where Mickey will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Carrie.
