Johanna Lee Vetovitz

Johanna Lee Vetovitz (nee Ekstrom), 90, of Broadview Heights, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023. She was born to the late Alex and Marie (nee Strand) Ekstrom on June 16, 1932, in Cleveland. She graduated in 1950 from West Tech High School. Johanna married William Vetovitz (deceased) in 1953. They had four children together. She earned her Associate's in Arts from Cuyahoga Community College in 1972 and retired as a Social Worker for Medina County in 2000. In her retirement, she spent her summers on Kelleys Island, where she volunteered at the library and was a member of the Red Hat Society, and wintered in Cedar Key, Florida. Johanna will be remembered for her love, kindness, patience, and determination. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved reading books. She is remembered by her children and grandchildren as being fun and supportive. She also enjoyed the many dogs she and William raised over the years. Johanna is survived by her sons, Keith (Karen), Curtis (Kate), Craig (deceased), and Kirk (deceased); and her grandchildren, Kevin, Brent, Marc, Kreg, Stephanie, Sondra, Sean, Beverly, and Cory. The family will welcome guests from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Johanna will be laid to rest at Westview Cemetery, 4353 Center Road, Brunswick.
